THE CHINESE ADOPTEE: A DIGITAL ETHNOGRAPHY

A safe (online) space for adoptees.

This website tells the story of the Chinese adoptee experiences in the form of a digital ethnography, drawing upon my 14 semi-structured interviews with friends, family, and members from my adoptee community. The site is divided in 4 consecutive parts, each page exploring one facet of adoptee identity:  the finding story, family ideals, culture, and the body.

It aims to act as a safe space for collective storytelling, as well serve as an educational resource that brings light to untold adoptee perspectives, which are ironically often ignored within adoption discourse.
