This 28-page zine employs film photography and fashion to investigate the varying couplings of masculinities and femininities - T and P roles - employed by Lalas* across time and space, questioning the politics of queer ambiguity, androgyny, and gender non-conformity as it relates to our path towards subverting heteronormativity.
Inspired by the use of quasi-documentary and street realism that so sharply defined the 90s queer film scenes of China and Hong Kong, I emphasize the importance of media that portrays queer lives as intersectional, multifaceted, authentic, and lived.
